Investor Guide:
Investing In equities
Step 1 Opening relevant accounts
Open a trading account and a Central Depository System (CDS) account with any Authorised Depository Agents (“ADAs”). All stockbroking companies in Malaysia are currently ADAs. You may locate the contact details of the head offices of all ADAs/stockbroking companies at the Bursa Malaysia website.
The procedure involves submitting necessary documents such as identification and proof of address, completing the application form, and paying any required fees. Once the CDS account is opened, the ADA facilitates stock transactions, manages holdings, and ensures compliance with Bursa Malaysia regulations.
